Welcome to our new Resident Ambassadors
Please join us in welcoming our six Network Ambassadors! These resident leaders were all nominated by their community land trust to participate in our new Ambassador Initiative, supported by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. The Ambassadors bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Network. They have been members of their CLT anywhere from one to thirty years; they have volunteered at annual events; and they have served on their CLT’s board of directors and homeowner associations.
The Ambassadors will educate policy makers about the importance of community land trusts and permanently affordable housing, starting with a visit to legislators in Washington, DC in March 2015. They will also advise the Network on strategic planning and decision making.
The 2015 Network Ambassadors are:
Yukiko “Yuki” Yamasaki
from Bright Community Trust, Florida
from City of Lakes Community Land Trust, Minnesota
from Oakland Community Land Trust, California
from OPAL Community Land Trust, Washington
from San Juan Community Home Trust, Washington
from Champlain Housing Trust, Vermont
The Network is grateful to the Ambassadors and their home CLTs for stepping forward to be part of this new initiative. If you know of a CLT resident or leaseholder who would make a great Ambassador, reach out to Jason Webb (Jason@cltnetwork.org). We will be looking to expand the Ambassador ranks later this year.
