Transit-oriented Development

Transit Oriented Development (TOD), involves the creation of compact, walkable communities centered on high quality public transportation systems. But research shows that increased demand for housing close to transit has the potential to increase housing costs and price out low-income families. Community Land Trusts (CLT’s) are a proven mechanism for ensuring permanent affordability and play a key role in making sure all people benefit from smarter transit. This page includes resources specific to the role of CLTs in TOD.
