Welcome the Network’s Start-Up Capacity Building Class
We’re excited to announce that we have selected three new CLTs for the new Start-up Capacity Building Program, part of our new Emerging CLT Initiative & Capacity Building Program, supported by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. These CLTs were selected from a competitive pool of 24 applicants from across the US and Canada. These emerging CLTs will each participate in an in-depth technical assistance process, starting with a kick-off event and training in late January. Through their work in the program, the participating programs will develop business plans for initial CLT operations. The Network is thrilled to help advance the mission of these organizations to provide sustainable and impactful permanently affordable housing that reaches those who need it in their communities.

The capacity building initiative program is part of a broader Emerging CLTs Initiative to build capacity across the sector. Over the next year, the Network will produce new tools and resources to help emerging community land trusts, including:
- A “Start-up Hub” in the Network’s “Tools & Resources” section of the website
- An annotated pathway to walk groups through the start-up process from exploration to implementation
- Expanded training opportunities both online and in-person at the National CLT Conference
