Valerie Schneider, JD
Assistant Professor, Fair Housing Clinic, Howard University School of Law
Valerie currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Howard University School of Law, where she supervises the Fair Housing Clinic. Through the Fair Housing Clinic, Howard Law students offer free legal services and legal information to low-income individuals and community groups. Past projects have included representing tenants in eviction proceedings, conducting “Know Your Rights” trainings for tenant groups, and negotiating settlements in Fair Housing and “Housing Conditions” cases. In the coming months, Valerie hopes to introduce her students to CLTs, and, if possible, have Howard Students work with or on behalf of CLTs or CLT residents. She welcomes requests for services from anyone in the DC area. Prior to joining Howard University School of Law, Valerie was an associate at Goulston & Storrs, p.c. in Boston, where she worked with the Dudley Neighbors, Inc. CLT. She plans to incorporate CLTs into her research and scholarship.
