Charles has a Masters in Community Economic Development and is an Economic Development Finance Professional (National Development Council). He worked for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for 15 years as a disaster relief program manager, community development specialist and turn-around management expert. He also served as Executive Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Kankakee, IL for 3 years, was cofounder of the Kankakee County Community Services, and founder of the Kankakee County Community Development Corporation. Charles has lived in
intentional communities for 25 years, cofounded the Fellowship for Intentional Community, and has served on numerous board of directors of non-profits and cause-oriented companies involved in community and economic development. He has participated in many organizations including the National Congress for Community Economic Development, Community Development Society, Community Services, Inc., the Foundation for Community Encouragement, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, World Business Academy, Social Venture Network, Institute of Noetic Sciences, etc.
