Allison is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Chicago. In 2013, she graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Urban Studies. Broadly, her interests span race, inequality, social innovation, and qualitative research methods. As an undergraduate, her thesis research centered on eminent domain and stalled redevelopment projects. Her first encounter with the CLT model came through her experience as a Summer Policy Associate at the Greenlining Institute in Berkeley, California, where she did research on shared appreciate loan models and visited the Oakland Community Land Trust. As a doctoral student, she hopes to deepen her understanding of the CLT model, especially in the contexts of residential mobility decision-making, networks of innovation, and locale-specific market dynamics.
