Policy Action Committee Meeting: Advocacy Strategies, Best Practices, and Benefits

Thank you to everyone who attended the Network and Cornerstone Partnership’s first Policy Action Committee Meeting of 2015!  The recording is now available. Building public awareness of permanently affordable housing, the solutions it provides communities, and the barriers this type of housing faces is vital for the growth and sustainability of our field. This is particularly important at the federal level, where major decisions are made about funding and financing that impact these programs. Collectively, practitioners need to engage in strategic advocacy and relationship-building with elected officials. During this PAC meeting, participants learned new strategies for engaging in federal advocacy to garner bipartisan support for the field and were called upon to participate in the Network’s upcoming Advocacy Day on Tuesday, March 10.

The Network and Cornerstone Partnership also encourage attendees to take these insights and utilize them during the Advocacy Day which will occur Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Reach out to your federal elected officials and let them know how important federal funding and support is to permanently affordable housing, your organization, and your community!
