Why join?
Membership in the National CLT Network has offered invaluable opportunities for all Sawmill Community Land Trust stakeholders- staff, Board, and homeowners- to share experiences and exchange ideas at the Annual Conference to help build and strengthen CLT affordable housing initiatives here at home and nationwide. Through the Network, members learn from each other, challenge each other, and channel efforts to improve housing policies at the local, regional, and national level.
Connie M. Chavez, Executive Director, Sawmill Community Land Trust
Being a member of the CLT Network has been great for Champlain Housing Trust. As the largest CLT in the United States, based out of Burlington, VT, it's important to us to be a part of a national conversation about the vital role that CLTs play in providing permanently affordable and secure homeowenership. The listserv, webinars, and committees the Network hosts are forums for vibrant discussion of the issues of the day, important updates, and tools and tips for new and established CLTs. The Network conferences are a fabulous opportunity to build relationships with other CLT experts, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions.
Brenda Torpy, Chief Executive Officer, Champlain Housing Trust. Founding member.
CLT Network membership has created several opportunities for the City of Lakes Community Land Trust (CLCLT) in Minneapolis. We receive reduced registration fees for trainings and conferences, a say in the future direction of the CLT Network, and up-to-date communication on trends impacting CLTs. Last year, two CLT homeowner board members returned from a CLT Conference to spearhead our first Annual Fundraiser for the organization. That event never would have occurred without our connection to the national CLT Network.
Jeff Washburne, Executive Director, City of Lakes Community Land Trust. Member since 2007.
