Community Land Trust Forum in New Orleans
Join the Network, the Crescent City Community Land Trust, Northshore Housing Initiative, Athens Land Trust and Enterprise Community Partners for a Urban Land Institute sponsored forum on CLTs in New Orleans!
When: Wednesday, February 12th, 9AM
Where: Dillard University, 2601 Gentilly Boulevard, New Orleans
With recovery in New Orleans continuing at a rapid pace, maintaining a viable stock of affordable housing for our working class residents is becoming harder and harder due to the rising costs of renting and buying a home. Community land trusts have been successfully implemented in other cities across the country as a method to combat this problem. However, CLTs are just getting off the ground in New Orleans and many of real estate professionals are unfamiliar with the specifics of how they work. For this event, ULI and its partners will bring together a diverse group of players, including affordable housing developers, city government officials, attorneys, real estate agents and others to provide an open forum for education, advocacy, and best practices based on the successes of those who have used community land trusts in other cities.
Panelists: Van Temple (Crescent City CLT), Nancy Stangle (Athens Land Trust), Beth Sorce (National CLT Network), John Debreuil (Northshore Housing Initiative).
